Wallpaper Book Anxiety - The Paper & Paint remedy

I love decorating. This career came about initially because I loved transforming the look of my own home. No sooner had I put a fresh colour on the wall than I'd be sat on the sofa thinking 'I really should've done it with Farrow & Ball's Haig Blue...'
And the brushes and rollers would come out again.
It was always paint too.
Why? Because I used to think it was easier than wallpaper.
I was intimidated by rows of wallpaper sample books.
Actually, more than intimidated - they gave me anxiety. I wanted to run screaming from the WInterstoke Decorators Supply store.
I could hang wallpaper for clients. But I wanted to do more than that. I really wanted to understand this amazing area of decoarting.
I embraced my fears by going on courses at the Dulux Academy and so began a personal journey into the subject.
In fact, one of the main reasons for creating this new website - and all the social media malarkey that goes with it - is that I am going to continue my journey into the world of wallpaper.
And I am going to take you along with me.
I am going to find lots of amazing wallpaper companies and talk to the creative people at each one. I intend to get lots of insights from the experts.
Because wallpaper is amazing. The impact it can have on a room - even if it's just a feature well - is profound. A simple chimney breast covered in a sensational bold print can add drama to a room, lift the other colours and fabrics, and give you pleasure every time you look at it.
When wallpapered rooms look so incredible - why don't more people use it?
And I think it goes back to those rows of wallpaper sample books at the decorator centres or the endless rolls in B&Q.
Choosing a wallpaper can be overwhelming.
So, over the coming weeks I am to dig around chat to those in the know, other decorators, anyone in fact who can help take the stress out of wallpaper.
I will also show you - in some very amateurish footage - actually how easy it is to hang wallpaper and how anyone can create an amazing feature wall that will transform a room. All in just a few hours.
So thank you for reading. If you have any thoughts please message - and here's the sharing the wallpaper love!
